Fullmetal Alchemist review
(just for the record, this is a slight alteration of my anime review)
ART: 8/10 The artwork is rather minimalistic when it comes to faces and clothing, but the sceneries are usually highly detailed and really make you feel the pulse of the people living there. The SD slapstick moments may feel overdone for such a dark story but nothing much of a problem. Also, the way all modern manga are made today I am even willing to consider the complete lack of erotic humor and nude to be a major plus too. Almost everyone is drawn handsomely and there is a token loli and mascot critter for the mainstream fans but even those are still not presented as a freaking brothel that distracts you from the actual story and character immersion. Banzai! Also, the series blends in various cultures and nationalities and yet it does not feel disjoined as it usually does in manga that throw in ideas at random. There is uniformity and a good excuse for everything looking the way they do. STORY SECTION: 9/10 For Japanese standards, the pacing of the story is extremely fast and quite complicating and unpredictable to the most part. That aside, the actual story is ingenious and really full of deep stuff you would never expect in an average show. I know most manga are full of interesting ideas and concepts but very few actually manage to do something with them. Most just throw them in as extra shock value and poor excuses to show off as smart or mature… and do a sappy job with them. The main story is about finding a magic trinket to gain back lost body parts and even resurrect the dead. But as the story goes on, it is no longer about that. It is about the meaning of life itself in a way and how each one pursues happiness or perfection in his own personal way. It’s not a unique premise; it’s like that in other series like One Piece for example. But over there the objective is unseen and impersonal to the point of not caring about it after awhile. Plus, it reached a gazillion chapters and no exposition of what the hell is going on with it was shown. No more! Moving along, almost everything in this series is excused. Yes, it’s a series where people use magic to turn water to wine and dirt to spears; yet the inner workings of such a thing are excused to a basic level of understanding. They even offer some scientific explanations to excuse it even further. So, when Ed uses alchemy to soften the diamond-hard shield of an enemy he makes sure to explain how carbon works to make that possible and not the DBZ type of excuse “My Power Level is bigger than yours”. Furthermore, although alchemy looks in practice a lot like chakras and jutsus in Naruto, the superpowers are never overused to a point where a character is defined only by his special move. Plus, there is actual strategy in battles here, unlike there where 99% of the so called tactics is making clones of you and exchanging places with a log. Finally, there are various side stories and they are all resolved in the end. No open endings or half-baked solutions, like in most series or even the A itself. All of which in far less than 600 chapters, most of which are dead time. So yeah, it is a masterful work that is glitched at some points by the way the plot may or may not move too fast or too slow and the emotional impact on you may or may not be as strong as it should have… or whatever. Many disliked the ending as they found it too normal and simple. Well I am sorry for not seeing Al throwing galaxies to Father, who has created a 11-dimensional black hole or something. The themes were fine, the resolution was reasonable and the final battle was long and exciting. Not being epicly epical epic epicness in terms of explosions is not a minus. CHARACTER SECTION: 10/10 Most characters mature or change throughout the story, which is a major plus. From the most superficial detail such as changing clothes, down to the core, like personal impressions of something, goals in life and deep stuff like that. In a span of merely ten chapters you get so much progress that most series out there can’t even see with binoculars and neon light arrows flashing above the target. So the FMA cast has all the elements of a great cast. You like pretty boys and girls? Sure, lots of those. Do they have quirky behaviors? You bet! Do they mature, grow older, wiser, smarter? Uh-huh! Do they have variety in all that or are they all slight variations of one another? Nobody is the same! Did most of them appear out of thin air? Nah, they all have backdrops excusing their place in the story. And do they all get their issues resolved at the end? Yup! Self-realization is very powerful for most and that can lead to some very emotionally powerful moments. Not to mention how many of the cast is actually killed and never returns back to life with some shmuck way. Another thing is how even small fries end up affecting the story. It usually is about the powerful few protagonists doing all the hard work as the rest of the world just eats pop-corn and watches them fight. Well no sir, not here. In this story even the meekest of characters actually does something. They may not all have an army behind their backs, super laser beams to level those who oppose or Geass eyes to convince others of how cool they are. Yet they actually do something! From digging trenches to stall the enemy, to secretly gathering information about his weakness, to even taking up arms when they can’t take this shit any longer. Heck, the villains themselves need to resolve to deception all the time exactly because they know they can’t just openly terrorize them no matter how powerful they are. Now THIS is what I call an interesting all-round cast. Marvelous! Nothing alike that parade of cardboards that is Bleach or Naruto. VALUE SECTION: 10/10, ENJOYMENT SECTION: 9/10 I admit that it had boring parts. It is still almost entirely captivating and a fine example of how great action/adventures should be made… in less than 600 chapters. It is almost a crime not to place this in the top adventures of all times. Reread value is very high, as there are so many events and character motives that there is no way to remember them all in one go. Plus, it will show how awesomely planned out every event was made to be since the beginning. It is nothing alike the average shounen out there, brimming with fillers, dragging, ass-pulling and random power-up panaceas. If Dragonball created the golden formula of a successful shounen series, then FMA transmutated it into a marvelous crown, full of jewels and decorations, fit only for itself and those rare few who can only hope to mimic half of its glory.

Utsuro no Hako to Zero no Maria review
Warning! This novel will make most tragedies in other stories seems small when compared to this novel.
Before I read the Volume 7 , I thought the best story was Vampire Juuji Kai. It has a really awful tragedy that is thoroughly logical, and no other stories can compare to that. I have even read it 4 times, because it is that good. I thought no other stories can match to Vampire Juuji Kai. Volume 1-6 of hakomari can't match Vampire Juuji Kai too IMO, even though volume 1 has a really awesome story. But then, volume 7 came out fully translated 1-2 weeks ago. I read it in one go, and then I was left speechless. Vampire Juuji Kai had a tragedy that made me cry badly, but this one did not make me cry at all, instead, it made me horrified. I can't even sleep well after reading it that night. It is just batsh*t insane. And, in my opinion it's even slightly better than Vampire Juuji Kai, which made me surprised. It is the BEST story I have ever known. Read 'till volume 7, and you will understand what I am talking about. You will not be dissapointed.

NaNa review
*Review contains spoilers*
Story 9/10 Nana is definitely unlike most shoujos out there, it has a very unique and appealing story. The story is very well executed, one event leading to another without overlapping or feeling like a device used only to create an specific situation. Transitions between arcs are very smooth and manage to keep you interested. But what I really liked the most about this manga is how realistically life events are portrayed, making characters and their emotions very believable and relatable. I was moved to tears by people's reactions to Ren's death and also very moved by the opening/closing statements in many chapters. The are 2 things preventing me from giving a 10 to this section. The first one is that the manga was never finished, thus we don't know the real ending of the story. Some might argue that it doesn't really matter because even though the last chapter leaves things hanging, you already know what the future holds for the characters. Yet, I feel there was still more being build up to happen (such as Slutty Nana meeting with Nana Darks, Slutty Nana FINALLY making up her mind between Nobu and Takumi, among other things). The second one is that some relationships seem to just be stuck in the same loop, never moving forward or being completely finished (for ex: Nana Darks and Ren kept finding dumb reasons for quarreling and being apart rather than together, Slutty Nana seemed unable to move past Nobu but determined to remain by Takumi's side knowing she wasn't completely happy with him or happy just at moments, Nobu remained stuck on Slutty Nana, Reira remained stuck on Takumi, Shin going back and forth on his feelings for Reira...). I understand being confused, but people do need to move on. The only person I felt progressed was Yasu, letting Nana Darks go and giving himself a chance with Miu (so happy for him!!!). I want to point out that Nana is definitely one of those literary works that you would recommend people to read the original source (manga) before seeing anything else (anime/life actions). This is not to say the anime is bad, on the contrary, it was a very faithful adaptation. However, the manga shows conversations and character's thoughts more in depth, allowing you to actually understand characters more while reading the manga than what you do while watching the anime (that happened to me with Slutty Nana, which I almost hated in the anime but came to understand and tolerate better in the manga). Art 8/10 Art was good, not the best I have seen, but good enough. In no way do I think that art affected the manga. Characters 10/10 I have to give this section a 10 because characters were so well developed, so many layers to their personalities were shown, that I can't bring myself to completely hate or dislike the characters I felt were the worst (*cough, cough,Takumi, cough, cough Slutty Nana*). I also must say that characters do remain true to themselves throughout the whole manga, as much as we might hate what they do or don't do. With Takumi, there were times when I thought "maybe he is not so bad", specially because he was the only one who accepted Slutty Nana as she was and supported her (with the pregnancy) when she needed it the most. I almost settled at having a love/hate relationship with him. However, although it could be argued that at least he was sincere and straightforward and an objective person, HOW THE HELL can you tell your partner "I cheat on you but you are the one I truly love"?! what the hell?! that is not love at all!! I kept wishing he would make himself a better person, not only for Slutty Nana, but also for himself and his family (and honestly, at least he accepted that he had neglected Slutty Nana so much that he wasn't surprised she didn't want to move to London with him), but that change didn't happen. He did step up at times when he was needed, but other than that, he was very abusive and negligent towards Nana and their daughter. Slutty Nana...I must say I was able to empathise with her at times and managed to not dislike her, but I found very annoying her being so indecisive between Takumi and Nobu, and making the conscious choice of staying with a man she knew was unfaithful and didn't make her happy. I almost respected her when she considered moving out of her house with Takumi, but she endep up stalling all the time! I do think Slutty Nana represents a lot of people, or at least most people at different stages and phases in life, but I would have liked to see her actually grow up and stand up for herself, on her own, for which she had many opportunities to do. I really felt sorry for Nana Darks, as life just kept making it difficult for her, depriving her of love and affection from those she cherished the most. She fought so hard for what she wanted, but life just kept bringing her down. I would have absolutely loved for Nana Darks to have a proper ending. Not a happy ending, because it seems the author would not allow that for Nana, but at least something going right for her! I also felt very sorry for Shin and was really glad he found a group of people that cared for him (specially Slutty Nana). Ren...obviously has issues, but I honestly felt they were not that delved into Enjoyment 9/10 Although I enjoyed Nana pretty much I do feel disappointed that it was never finished. The last chapter leaves a cliffhanger between Nobu and Slutty Nana, even though you know that they don't end up together because in the future she is still married to Takumi. So, unless the author planned to continue the story, it makes you feel like a waste of time creating such cliffhanger if it's not going to be followed up in the future. And also...why did Nana Darks leave?? (she was doing better after a while following Ren's death) when did she go? why did people think she was dead at first? did Reira continue with PTSD? so many things left unanswered! Overall 9/10 It's a manga worth reading, but the fact it was never concluded does rest points to the manga in general.

Mahou Shoujo Ikusei Keikaku: Restart review
I love it, a very good novel with a story that includes mysteries, criminality, suspense and that you venture to continue reading, the characters are beautiful and I think it exceeds the first arc.
I like how they make see a lot of magical girls with very interesting magic powers and put them in a survival type of battle, you go thinking that it is something nice and cute and good you end up surprised. In the end maybe I just need to develop some characters better, although I understand that it is a light novel is fine and in its more than 400 pages I really think it does very well.

Royal Green review
I don't know why nobody write a review for this manga. I think this is some of the best manga I have read. The girl is kind of reckless and the boy, totally gonna melt your heart!!
But, I don't think that the title suit the story. Read it to know why. Now, the story. It's about a girl who likes to work halfway without even try to finish it! One day, when she's on the way to go for her entrance exam, she fell on a pile of snow. Her clothes were all dirty. She give up to go for the exam 'cause she's already late. Suddenly, an unkown boy say something to her that makes her spirit level up again! Finally, she pass her entrance exam. She wants to meet the boy again but she only have the boy's handkerchief for a clue. She showed the handkerchiefs to her friends and they all were shocked! What's happening?!!

SYSTEM OF ROMANCE review
This manga... I don't really know where to start. I don't usually read these kinds of magas but here goes.
* May contain spoilers...sorry* The art wasn't to good and the story... scared me, but don't get me wrong...I think i'm crazy but i did like it. "A girl has sex with a man she met on a chatline. She later learns a dark secret about the man, only to meet him again under less-than-favorable circumstances. This is a short oneshot that will leave you confused and wanting more." The last line from the paragraph above is so true, also the last line from the manga when she realises she loves him is very heartfelt. "There was no other man that made my heart flutter like that he did." I found it really funny when she learnt that he was *wanted*. They could of made a happier ending but there was no other option for him. ( Hopefully you understand me more after you read the story) I guess if your a mature audience and your just looking to pass some time, i think you should read it.

Tomogui Kyoushitsu review
Tomogui Kyoshitsu is... bad. I was looking for another word to describe it but that's the only thing I think of when remembering how reading this manga felt like.
The story? Nonsensical, cliched for the genre (what is up with the 'king's game'-like manga, anyway?) and absolutely disgusting. This is coming from someone who enjoys gore. I'm trying not to spoil it much, but there was NO NEED whatsoever for certain things to happen to the female characters. It wasn't done in a decent or meaningul manner and was clearly there to shock the reader and attempt to make the manga seem darker than it already is. The pacing is dreadful and all over the place. One chapter the characters go around talking to each other about nothing and in the next one so much happens that you can barely understand wtf is going on. Art? It's okay. It seems like the poor artist who had to draw this mess didn't write the story at least. It was pretty average. Characters? My god. They are awfully written and developed. The main lead has as much personality as a sack of potatoes, and guess what? For some reason everyone is in love with him! Almost every guy is a douchebag who may or may not end up sexually assaulting the female students and said girls' personality amounts to feeling jealously over one another or, you guessed it, liking a guy and thinking about said guy. That's what most of them amount to. Jesus christ. My enjoyment was almost null if it wasn't for the fact that this is so, so bad, I had a bit of a laugh reading it. Who approved this? Which poor sods had to publish this? I felt sorry for them. Overall, if you like enjoying things and having a good time reading manga, skip this immediately. If you're a poor soul who read this out of curiosity like me, then godspeed, my friend. Godspeed.

Zashiki Onna review
This is one of my favorite mangas.
A really creepy story, I'm pretty sure there's something more on this work because you can't stop reading it. The stalker lady is one of the creepiest characters ever, it's all about the appearence and the personality, some details on her makes this manga scary as hell.

HARUWAKA review
It's a decent manga that has an interesting concept but is too short to be anything great. The story is unique but due to how short it is, it doesn't give us a true ending.
Twin sisters fall in love with the same man who happens to be an erotic mangaka. The sisters agree to model for him and the harem lifestyle begins quite fast. I like the younger sister the best, but I can see the appeal of both sisters. This manga does take a serious turn later down the road but it's remedied by its humor and final scenes. The best element of this manga is the artwork which looked like Tonari no Kawshiwagi-san. There's a prefect blend of cute and erotic elements woven in between comedic scenes. It's not surprising that the artist behind this manga is a woman.
